Artist & Designer
Born in Renfrewshire in Scotland, Stephanie has travelled extensively throughout her life and was fortunate enough to grow up while spending an idyllic childhood living on Orkney. She has also lived in Australia and more recently in Canada, in Vancouver and just outside Toronto and a few other towns in between. However, she now shares her time between her homes in London and Edinburgh and is enjoying a successful career as a freelance clothing, print designer, jewellery designer, dolls and dolls clothes designer and fine artist.
Stephanie graduated in 1995 from the Scottish College of Textiles with a BSc Hons in Clothing and has worked in various areas of the clothing industry, ranging from design to production. However her interests and talents have always been wide ranging and she is now concentrating on exploring these interests and following an even more creative path. This has led her to further develop her passion for painting and drawing and to explore the world of jewellery design and silversmithing and more recently glass fusing and lampwork. She is also working in doll making and sculpture which she hopes to be able to develop and combine with other elements of her work.
Stephanie’s work, either consciously or not, has obviously been influenced by her island childhood and by her travels. Her use of colour is imaginative and influenced by her moods, as well as her observations over the years, particularly of clouds and skies.
